Procedures for Arrival at Egyptian Airports
#Travellers must provide an “accredited” COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated 14 days before arrival or a negative PCR test performed 72 hours before departure.
#“Accredited” vaccination certificate means the certificate must be recognised by the health authorities at their countries of origin and include a QR Code. Certificates must not include deletion, alteration, or addition otherwise they will not be accepted.
#Travellers may also be subject to a 15-minute molecular test, known as ID NOW. If the result comes back positive, a PCR will be performed at the arrival airport.
# If the event of a positive test on the arrival. If the passenger is Egyptian, they will be transferred to a designated hospital for coronavirus patients where the treatment protocol can be applied. In the event the passenger is not Egyptian and the ID NOW test and the PCR test are positive, the passenger will be deported.
Additional Traveller Safety Measures at Airports
#All staff at the airport will have been fully vaccinated and regularly tested before being allowed to attend work or interact with travellers.
# Wearing face masks is mandatory inside all airport facilities.
# Physical distancing is to be maintained.
# Temperature of all travellers and airport staff is checked, the system is discretely operated whilst the traveller makes their way to passport control.
# Disinfection of luggage before being placed on the luggage conveyor belt.
Return Pre Boarding Testing
# If you require a PCR test prior to returning home, Roots are able to provide the testing service up to 48 hours in advance of departure.
# The test is conducted either at Safaga a hour transfer each way or with an on site visit by an accredited nurse.
# The results will be collected on the route to the airport.
# The cost of the service at Safaga is €80 per person or when €100 per person with the nurse attanding Roots. These prices include collection and delivery of the results.
